US Army heavy weapons squads with rucksacks4 x 28mm miniatures Sculpted by Richard Ansell

This is a great set of miniatures. Fantastic. Upon arrival, there were little to no mould lines, a few bits of extra metal to snip off but most importantly, none of the barrels had warped or bent.
There are four miniatures. A marine running with his M16, a marine firing his M16, another pulling a grenade from his smock while the fourth is the gunner of the legendary M60 “pig”. Two marines have the metal framed ALICE packs while water-bottles, knives, machetes and smoke grenades are spread across the foursome. Three have spare belts of ammunition for the squad’s M60, as per doctrine. The poses are dynamic and natural, two firing, one fetching a grenade, the other running.
What is the best feature of the miniature is the fantastic levels of detail. It is incredible. A common feature in Vietnam would be Marines using the rubber band on the M1 helmets (supposed to be used for foliage) to carrying eating utensils, ammunition, toothbrushes or oil bottles. All the marines have these in miniature, while the level of detail on their uniforms and webbing is amazing. As is the M60 which is sculpted beautifully along with the Marines’ faces. Fantastic work by Richard Ansell on these sculpts.
Overall, this is an amazing set of miniatures and a quality buy. One of the best of TAG’s range so far.
